Web Design

Here are a collection of links which I find very useful for creating Web pages.  If you have a Web Design project that needs completion, please check out the "My specialties" section to learn about the services that I can offer you.  The "Free Resources" section points to places where every aspect of a web page can be obtained for free.
  • Builder.com - software reviews, tutorials on new technology, good dialogue.
  • Developer at Netscape - Kind of clunky.
  • The W3 consortium - The godfathers of the World Wide Web.  The ultimate source of web standards.  Lots of technical specifications, not that user friendly.
  • HTML
  • Graphics
  • Programming
  • Usability / Web Design Criticism
    • www.useit.com - Usable Information Technology.  Jakob Nielson's Website.  He writes about good Web design techniques, with an overall goal of maximum usability.  Lots of great suggestions, some dialogue on current trends.
    • Web Sites that Suck - Learn what not to do.
  • Emerging Technology
  • Free Resources
    • www.thefreesite.com - A collection of all sorts of free stuff on the net. Lots for Webmasters.

Daily Links

  • Slashdot.org - A giant site that displays interesting articles and links which people have submitted.  Also contains lots of comments and discussion.  Mostly High-Tech computer stuff and High-Tech culture.  Very (inter)active.
  • Theonion - A satirical newspaper.  Not intended for readers under 18.

Classical Studies

This section has links to important sites in the field of Classical Studies, the study of the peoples of ancient Greece and Rome.  Classical Studies encompasses Literature, Archaeology, History, Philology, Art History, Religious Studies, and lots of other fields.

Music

There are lots of places to listen to streaming music on the Internet. Here are my current favorites:

Friends & Family

Although potentially embarrassing, I hereby admit that I have some sort of connection to the following people: If you feel a little upset because your name does not appear on my list, don't dismay!  Just send me email with your homepage URL and a plausible description of how we know each other.
