Josh Kutz-Flamenbaum

Planned and implemented production, staging, and development systems for NetAid.org, a non-profit organization founded by the United Nations. Used Red Hat Linux, Solaris, Cisco Firewall and LocalDirector to provide highly available server environment for mission-critical donation and membership applications. Created E-mail marketing tool by integrating MySQL database with mailing list software. Created Web applications using PostgreSQL, Python, and Zope. Collaborated with seven person Web team to redesign NetAid.org into a tool to increase organization membership.

Technical lead for Export System, a client/server marketing application used to centralize Starmedia's Spanish and Portuguese Internet products. Application increased company revenue by enabling targeted advertisements on products built using various Web technologies. Developed application using Oracle, PL/SQL stored procedures, Python application server and platform-independent Perl clients using the LWP module. Supervised application deployment among satellite offices and partner companies in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.

Designed and built content management system for nationally distributed magazine using Linux, Apache, mod_perl, and MySQL. Created publishing tools that enable staff to meet demanding deadlines. Wrote documentation and trained content production staff. Created site architecture and Dynamic HTML templates. Administered co-located FreeBSD production servers and wrote Perl scripts for system administration. Served as technical liaison between print production, new media, and marketing departments.
